Fashions Thru the Ages 2015

Fashions Thru the Ages was the second convention organized by Down Under Scarlett Belles chapter.

It was held at the Bayview hotel in Melbourne and attended by chapters from interstate country and local suburbs At registration each lady was presented with a red neck pouch containing tickets for various events along with a bottle of monogrammed water with a tiny red hat on top.

The first night got off to a roaring start with canapés served in the foyer to the ladies all decked out in their finest roaring 20’s dresses and head pieces. Entering the ballroom the ladies were treated to a beautiful black n white decor with black and gold balloons above the dance floor and Gatsby posters all around.

Next morning it was breakfast in the Niche restaurant downstairs and then a scurry of activity for the ladies to catch taxis, trams or walk into Melbourne city.

Regional Picnic 2015

The third annual Regional Red Hat picnic at “Kidstown”, Shepparton was a huge success.

The perfect autumn weather brought about 50 ladies to the event. Out came the lunches and coffees amid lots of happy chatter and laughs. Some hatters traveled up from Melbourne to join in the fun.

The Easter bunny made an appearance, scattering chocolate eggs amongst the crowd. Children picnicking nearby got into the act as well, excitedly searching for eggs in the grass.

Some ladies boarded the miniature train for a ride around the park. It was lovely to catch up with old friends from other chapters and to make new friends as well. Shepparton’s Queen Divine volunteered to organise next year’s picnic, much to the delight of Bendigo’s Queen Jennifer.

The next Victorian Red Hat picnic will be in Melbourne in November.

The Today Show

The Today Show was broadcast from Bendigo’s Rosalind Gardens recently. Some Golden Gadabouts braved the early start and created quite a bit of interest. We took our banner and met with Richard Wilkins and Troy Cassar-Daley. We had a great time and spread the Red Hat message among the crowd!

What a wonderful day we had!

We really splashed colour over Kidstown with over 50 Hatters, from many chapters, getting together for a fun day.

Michele from Red Madness gave us the opportunity to buy bling and clothing.

Many ladies from the newer chapters along the Murray were able to stock up on Red Hatting merchandise.

The Easter Bunny made an appearance, scattering eggs everywhere.

After lunch, the miniature train gave us loads of laughs.

“Let’s do this again next year”, was the cry.
